I agree!
Last year I went to the hospital 3 times a day to feed my mom her meals. After a couple of weeks, I mentioned to the parking attendant that it’s expensive paying for parking each time and asked if there was any way that I can pay a flat rate and be able to come and go. Turns out there is a daily rate and all I needed to do is tell the attendant that I’m coming back and they will let me keep my parking ticket till the end of the day, then I pay the maximum for the day. Fast forward another couple of weeks and again as I was leaving I complained and was told I can get a book of parking permits that would work out to an amount much less than what I was currently paying. So when I returned, I parked the car and went and bought myself a book of permits.
I used 2 or 3 of them until one of the parking attendants told me I didn’t need to pay at all because I have a handicap parking permit. So for those 2 or 3 times, they let me leave without paying, that I was so happy and grateful about, were actually a “thing”.
This was over the course of about 3 months. So I wholeheartedly believe parking should be free at all hospitals because when you’re there because of an accident or some other urgent matter, the farthest thing you should be thinking about, is feeding the meter.
